Hello Losties,

I am writing to let you know that I am officially retiring my position of SL-LOST leader/owner. I have enjoyed my time working with SL-LOST since our humble beginnings in May 2007. From when we started the original island that mysteriously closed, to our move to Sl-LOST headquarters, to our mini island and finally to see the dream realized on the island you all know. Through the years I have worked with an amazing team of people that were willing to share their many talents to make a place for all LOST fans to meet and discuss the show in a new and exciting way. Sometimes we didn’t see eye to eye but one thing mattered and that was making this island as close as we could to that in the show.

I am happy to announce as well that both Campetin and I have chosen our replacements, some I am sure are more familiar with them then they are with Camp and myself because they have been in charge this entire season and doing a wonderful job, always going the extra mile. Replacing me is Felicity Burt and Dario Darrow will fill Campetin’s place. I am sure we can agree that if it wasn’t for Flic and Dario’s involvement this season the island might have not made it this far. They hope to continue what we started and making some changes for the better to bring new life into the group and the island itself, whatever they do I feel good knowing we put it in good hands. I encourage you all to make them feel welcome in their new roles.

Now that I am retired I am hoping to get sometime to come into SL and just have fun meeting new people and exploring different places. I still will remain on the staff just a much smaller role. Thank you all for your continued support and see you around!

Tournament Update

Thank you to everyone who signed up and is taking part in the Season 6 Tournament. In week one the Light team went storming ahead and stayed ahead till this week when the Dark team not only overtook but are now way out in the lead.
The scores are... Light team = 318 points, Dark Team = 511
There was 2 hidden objects this week and there is a new Armory door code set.
This week we also held our first beach party with DJ Jimmeh playing some awesome tunes.

We now have introduced 7Seas fishing to the dock area. It is only avaiable to SL-Lost members so feel free to sit, fish and chat about Lost :) If you haven't tried 7Seas fishing then now is the time. We have a vendor there so you can kit yourself out with a rod and bait. We have set up a seperate area next to the dock so you can rez bait. We will also be running regular fishing contests.

Let The Tournament Begin

With the jaw dropping, mind blowing premiere episodes over, it is time to start the tournament.

Every Friday the armory door in the swan will be locked with a new code. The code will be a number that appeared or was quoted during the premiere episodes. The first person to guess the code and IM Felicity Burt with the correct code will receive 42 points for there chosen team. Everyone who guesses after that and IMs me with the right code will receive 23 points for there team.

Saturday's the weekly scavenger hunt item will be hidden. This item will be something that appears in the episode but we aren't going to make it easy for you and tell you what the item is, that is up to you to figure out :) Once you think you have found the item IM Felicity Burt with what you think the item is and where you found it. The first team to find it will receive 42 points and everyone after will receive 23 points for there team.

On Sunday's at 1.30pm SLT will the weekly Trivia quiz and group episode discussions. Hopefully you watched the episode very carefully so you can answer all the questions correctly. Each question will earn you 10 points for your team. The episode discussion will follow the trivia, we would love to hear your theories but PLEASE NO SPOILERS.

Please be aware that the island does have a 20 avatar limit. This is unfortunately something beyond our control and we apologise if you cant get to the island during busier times.

It's that time again and with only a few days left till the Premiere of season 6 we are now opening the enrolment for the Season 6 tournament.

If you didn't join in last year or are new to the group the tournament is a series of events which will last throughout season 6.

Trivia quiz on that weeks episode

Dances with one of the Lost DJ's

and whatever else i think of during the season lol

The trivia and scavenger hunt events can earn you points for your team.Near the end of the season the winning team will go head to head in a battle to win the main prize.

To join in you need to pick which side you want to be on Light OR Dark. Once you have chosen your destiny you will need to IM one of the following people

The SL-Lost Staff are looking for a few volunteers to help us out on the island through Season 6.

We are looking for anyone who would like to help us in any way, from DJ's, events hosts, to people who just want to give there time to help members out on the island.

There is only one thing we ask and that is your account to be over 6 months of age so we know that you have a basic knowledge of how Second Life works

If you would like to help us out through the final season please send a notecard named SL-Lost Volunteer and your name to Felicity Burt with the following information..

What you would like to help us out with on the island

If you have any skills that you could use on the island

What time zone you are in as we need volunteers from different timezones.

Lost! Murder Mystery

A poor defenceless Redshirt has been killed and it is up to you to solve the puzzle and find out who murdered him!

You need to figure out 3 things,

1. Who is the murderer
2. Where the murder happened
3. What was the murder weapon

There are 8 boxes scattered around Dharmaville, each one will give you a clue to one of the puzzle pieces. Just click the box to get your clue.
When you have all 3 answers send them on a notecard to me Felicity Burt.
The puzzle will run for a week and then i will pick a random winner out of everyone who entered.They will receive a limited edition prize :)

Today is the island's 1st Birthday and what a year it has been.

We are close to having nearly 2000 SL-Lost group members which is amazing.

We have made several changes to the island during the past year to keep up with season 5.

There have been some great themed events to keep everyone busy during the break.

I have enjoyed the past year and hope to have a great season 6 on the island.

La Fleur's Rent Event

We are having a special event tomorrow Tuesday 22nd September to help raise money to pay the rent on the island so SL-Lost can continue to make the island a place for lost fans to visit. Thank you all in advance for any donations big or small you can make, every linden makes a difference.

As some of you may have heard we are in need of donations to help pay for the islands land fees. A donation thermometer has been put out on the beach with our target figure on it. If you have any spare lindens please help us by making a donation. An anonymous source is willing to match the first 5x L$500 donations placed in the thermometer on the beach. This offer is only open till Sunday 23rd August. Thank you in advance for any donations you can make every L$ helps :)

UPDATE :
Thanks to everyone donating we made the target set for last weekend and the anonymous donor matched the 5x L$500 so we are now up to 40% of our main target. Please continue to donate any spare lindens so we can continue to run the island :)

I was looking through some old pics and found some of the old SL-Lost Headquarters. This was the first headquarters that SL-Lost had after the original island closed. SL-Lost has come along way since these headquarters and in September we will be celebrating the island 1st birthday.

I am very proud to be a staff member and to be able to organise events. If there is any event you would like to see on the island please don't hesitate to contact me i am always looking for new ideas :)

This Sunday is going to be the first of our character themed parties. Come and join us on the beach for a typical Australian BBQ. We will also have roasted boar on the camp fire :) No dress code but if you have a Locke avatar that is great if not then come in your beach wear or just come as you are. A Huge Thank You

Firstly the season finale party last night was a huge sucess and at one point the island was full and people couldnt get on.

I would like to say a few thank you's to the people who helped me with the tournament and last nights party.

To Campetin and Samantha for giving me the chance to do the tournament.

Seastories for being my sidekick during the tournament, DJ'ing and making all the scavenger hunt items.

Dario for helping me loads, making the goody boxes and some of the gifts in it.

Gonkette for her gestures.

Jimmeh for also DJ'ing.

Last Day Of The Tournament Today

Today is the last day of the tournament. So if you havent done the scavenger hunt you only have today to do it. Also any timer pics will have to be in today.
I will be adding up the final points tomorrow and taking away the score board in the airport so it will be a surprise. I have to say it is very close between the top 2 people.

Sundays Event

The season finale party will start at 1pm SLT on the beach for a 70's disco. We will have great music from one of the SL-Lost DJ's, fireworks and goody bags for everyone who comes.

Then at 2pm SLT the party will move upto the meeting room for the tournament results and prize giving. We will also be discussing the season finale.

There will then be a break to get some pineapple and cheese on sticks lol.

At 6pm SLT there will another dance but this time in the meeting room. Hope to see you all there

This week sees the end of season 5 :( i have a mixture of emotions excitement because its the season finale and it is going to be great but sad as another season over.
So to make us all feel better we are dusting off our platforms and our flairs and going back to the 70's for our finale party. If you don't have a 70's outfit then you can come in Dharma overalls. So keep this Sunday free and come and join us on the island.

With only one week left of the tournament we have decided to re hide all the scavenger hunt items. There has been 11 items in total and they are now all in a new hiding place.

Tournament Update

The Armory door has been reset and locked with a new code. This is the last time this season the door will be reset so i am giving 108 points to the first person to guess it. There wont be any more new scavenger hunt items but if there are some you still haven't found you just over a week to find them. The last day for the tournament will be Friday 15th and we will announce the winner on Sunday 17th at the season finale party.

Sl-Lost is not the only Lost group in second life and is not the only Lost group to own land BUT we are the only group that has its own island which is set up like the show.
So if you are on a Lost groups land which doesn't have the Swan, the Pearl, the beach camp then you aren't on the Sl-lost island.

I was lucky enough to be one of the members of staff who met Iain Lee and his team from Skyone's Lost Initiative when they came to visit us on the island. They actually spent alot longer with us but i guess they picked out the best bits. Iain spoke to a few of us, and infact asked me if i look like Felicity in RL lol. Once you have the account save your pics from SL to hard drive (make sure you save it into a file you know you can find lol) then upload it onto Flickr and add it to our group pool http://www.flickr.com/groups/sl-lost/. Each month i am going to pick the best photo from those added and it will displayed on the wall in the airport. If you have any problems you can contact me inworld and i will try and help you out. Free Lost Avatars

The recently reopened KA Designs are giving away 2 Lost avatars Kate and Sawyer. Apparently they had an opening party with a Lost theme :) and these where given away. If you explore further around the sim like my good friend Dario Darrow did, you can find where they had there party.

Armory Door Code Solved

Well done to Bif Blackthorne who guessed the armory door code on his first try. The code was 158 which appeared on the licence plate of the car where Ben was waiting for Sayid in the episode 'He's our you'. So Bif gets himself the 108!! points for guessing the code. Bif had a very productive evening on the island because not only did he guess the code, he found 2 of the scavenger items he was missing and took 4 pictures of the swan counter. In total Bif managed to earn himself 230 points in one go. Well done Bif

He is a very talented video makers and kept us all happy with his Preperation for Season 5 vids in the run up to the season premiere :)

The Armory door has been reset and locked with a number that appeared in the last episode 'He's our you'. Since nobody guessed last week code which was 84 (the pylon that was tripped by Sayid) i am going to up the points for this week. So instead of getting 42 points i am going to give the first person to guess the code 108 points!!!! so it is well worth having a guess :) Good luck

Meet The Staff

Namaste, todays post is to start to introduce some of the staff members that you may not have met yet. I will doing one member of staff at a time.
First up is Samantha Kuncoro one of the SL-Lost staff leaders. Sam is one of the original members from the very first island and has been working hard since to get us where we are now. She is very approachable and is always happy to help. So if you have any problems or just want a chat then catch up with Sam.

Apollo Bar Hunt

The Apollo bars have been made alot bigger so they should now be easier to find :) Thanks to everyone who searched for them over the last week, hopefully now you will be able to find any missing ones you havent found yet.

Now that the bars are bigger the points have been reduced, answer all the questions and get 42 points, if you give all the code words you get 23 points. Find the bonus bar and get another 42 points. Do all 3 and get 108 points! so well worth looking.

Remember to put all the codewords and answers to the questions you got from the bars on ONE notecard and send it to me or Seastories. Happy hunting :)

A Brief History

Back in May 2007 several Lost fans started building a virtual Lost island in Second Life. All was going well till suddenley the financial backer of the island dissappeared and the island was closed.

The group wanted to continue so Campetin Hoorenbeck and Samantha Kuncoro found a new temporary headquarters so fans could still meet up and chat. It was at this HQ i started to go along to the meetings and joined the SL-Lost group then later i became staff.

In march 2008 the group moved from that temp location to a bigger plot of land and started to rebuild parts of the island. Samantha was later approached by someone who made her an offer that the group couldnt resist our own island.

On Sept 22nd 2008 the SL-Lost island was opened after alot of hard work by the Sl-Lost staff including myself (i built the escalators in the airport).

I am very proud of the work that was done and to be a part of such a growing group in SL. Below is a video that Campetin made just before the opening.

Namaste losties and welcome to my new adventure into blogging. I am very new to this so i am learning as i go along. I've set up this blog to let you all know what is happening on the Lost island in second life.
